New photo Frank Warren fears Tyson Fury isn’t fully prepared to fight Deontay Wilder

TYSON FURY’S promoter Frank Warren fears the Gypsy King may not have had enough fights to deal with WBC champion Deontay Wilder.

Following a two-and-a-half year layoff after dethroning Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, the 30-year-old has fought just twice.

His comeback fight against Sefer Seferi in June came to a halt at the end of the fourth round after the Albanian quit on his stool.

While he outpointed former European champ Francesco Pianeta at Windsor Park in August to set up the blockbuster bout against the Bronze Bomber.

But writing in the Metro, legendary promoter Warren believes his fighter may not be ready for the American knockout artist, though he has lauded the condition he is in.

He said: “Tyson Fury is in a good place right now. Mentally he’s good and physically he’s in superb shape. I think the only thing that might worry me is has he had enough fights since he’s come back?

“That’s the one factor people are looking at, but his sparring partners have been impressed. He’s done well with them all, so hopefully that translates into a win on the night.

Deontay Wilder has questioned Tyson’s fitness, but Big Bear is what it is. He was at high altitude there and came down to the level he fights at.

“Look, Wilder has taken this fight because he thinks if he fights Fury now, he won’t be at his best. They needed a name. They wanted a big fight and Anthony Joshua refused. It was Joshua or Fury.

“Wilder’s team think by taking Fury now it’s the best time to fight him because the fact is he’s been out for a couple of years.

Fury - Wilder wanted to get the fight cancelled

TYSON FURY believes Deontay Wilder wanted to start a riot so their fight would be cancelled and the Gypsy King slapped with a massive fine.

The final press conference for the Saturday night WBC heavyweight world title showdown was a cordial event for around 30 minutes before a late scuffle.

The Bronze Bomber shoved Fury’s promoter Frank Warren out of the face-off and the American’s team surged forward and allegedly threw punches.

Fury said: “I think Wilder’s nervous; he felt he needed to scream and shout and make threats.

“I believe Wilder wanted me to aim the left hook so that the fight would be cancelled.”

“They might be right, but we think they’re wrong. Tyson touched on it this week, and we knew this at the time during talks, we’ve lulled them into a false sense of security.”

While Warren also believes that victory against Wilder will put Fury up there with Muhammad Ali and George Foreman in terms of greatest comebacks in boxing.

Fury faces the 2008 Olympic bronze medallist at the Staples Center in Los Angeles later tonight, with the Brit expected to pocket £8million for the fight.

And he has incredibly vowed to donate his entire purse to help the homeless where he has promised to build homes for those in need.
