On Friday, Netflix finally released its highly anticipated Black Mirror movie Bandersnatch.

And fans have gone wild for the interactive movie, which boasts over one trillion possible combinations with five possible endings to try out.

The choose-your-own adventure film left viewers on the edge of their seats, as many struggled to choose from the many different choices on offer.

Taking to Twitter to express their delight, fans gushed about the 'amazing' film with Charlie Brooker's latest release in the franchise being called a 'genre defining piece of art'.

One user wrote: 'Omg #Bandersnatch was amazing! Absolutely GENIUS! I almost thought there was no real ending. Job well done as always Black Mirror! Way to literally make us a part of the storyline (sic)'

While another gushed: '#BANDERSNATCH was a genre defining piece of art. Charlie Brooker really is pathing the way for next generation of storytellers and it's so f****** exciting. Thank god for #BlackMirror' 

Another user kept it simple, as they said: 'black mirror: bandersnatch is a 10/10'

While viewers couldn't help but sing their praises for the show, others pointed out their struggle to choose the 'right' options for lead character Stefan.

One joked: 'Black mirror bandersnatch is really highlighting how awful I am at making decisions. I feel attached.'

The choose-your-own-adventure movie is the first of its kind for Netflix, which has only previously attempted the interactive style in kids’ programs, and comes with five possible endings, according to Variety.

The film varies in length from around 40 minutes to 90 minutes, and the numerous ‘choice points’ throughout make for more than a trillion unique combinations.

Black Mirror fans have long been waiting for Netflix to drop the latest iteration of the series, with excitement ramping up following rumors earlier this year that it would come in an interactive form.

The movie tells the story of Stefan’s descent into insanity after he creates a video-game based on a book of that name.

And, it’s up to the viewer to decide how it will all play out.

Black Mirror fans have already dedicated hours to mapping out the different combinations based on the choices you can make, including one exhaustive effort shared today on Reddit. 

The first move is simple: choose what cereal Stefan has for breakfast. This, the creators explain, is somewhat of a gift to viewers.

‘We want [viewers] to have a successful choice early on,’ Netflix director of product innovation Carla Engelbrecht told Variety.

From then on, however, the story and the consequences of your decisions become much more complex.

Though there are ultimately a handful of endings, what happens between the start and finish can take any number of paths.

Not every decision will alter the course of the story (for example, the cereal choice), but altogether, it adds up to more than a trillion different permutations, the team told Variety.

This lines up with earlier reports that claimed Bandersnatch contains more than five hours of footage.

For the most part, viewers have been spending about 90 minutes to watch it from start to finish.

For indecisive viewers or those who want to try out the different possibilities, the total time watching (and re-watching) has worked out to be much longer.
