New photo Best Christmas deals 2018: Cheap Champagne, Prosecco and Cava deals

IF you want unlimited bubbly at Christmas but don’t want to break the bank at the same time, you should check out our round-up of the most wallet-friendly bottles of fizz currently around.

We have looked at prices of Cava, Prosecco and Champagne (branded and non-branded) in all the major supermarkets in the UK to find out where you’ll get the most bubbly for your pounds – and the results aren’t actually that surprising.

Champagne
You can save a lot of money by avoiding the branded Champagne bottles

Of all the bottles currently on sale in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Asda, Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Co-op, Ocado as well as Lidl and Aldi, the two latter supermarkets frequently came out on top as offering the best value.

Of course, our price data doesn’t take into account the quality or taste of the alcohol so that may be reflected in the price.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that prices could change rapidly in the run-up to Christmas – so the best offer today might be different by tomorrow.

Here are the best deals on bubbly currently around:

The best value branded Champagne – Aldi’s Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut and Lidl’s Comte de Senneval Champagne Brut for £11.49

  • Look for vouchers on money saving websites like Vouchercloud and HotUKDeals who list deals you can hand over to retailers.

  • Check sites like MySupermarket to check if you can get the same bottle cheaper in any other supermarket. You can also see when products were on offer to see if you’re getting the best deal.

  • Keep an eye out for discounts, offers and reduced prices.

According to our data, Lidl is currently offering the cheapest Prosecco bottles around at £5.49.

The supermarket’s Allini Prosecco Frizzante is aromatic, fizzy, off-dry and not too heavy, according to Lidl – but it works well for all types of occasions.

The best value sparkling wines
