New photo Anthony Joshua back training in gym as he reveals Tyson Fury was NOT KOd in Deontay Wilder fight

ANTHONY JOSHUA has continued training after his trip to America as the unified heavyweight world champion attempts to bolster his profile stateside.


Joshua, 29, was in attendance to watch Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez rip the WBA ‘regular’ super-middleweight title away from Rocky Fielding in New York on Saturday.

The fight was shown on new sports streaming service DAZN, which Joshua and Canelo are the face off – something promoter Eddie Hearn hopes will build AJ’s profile in the US.


Joshua, however, is not the talk of the heavyweight division in the US right now after Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury’s incredible world title fight in LA at the beginning of the month.


Fury boxed expertly and was unfortunate not to claim the WBC heavyweight title after a contentious split-decision draw.


However, the fight will be synonymous for Fury’s ability to rise from the canvas in the last round after a heavy combination of Wilder toppled the Gypsy King.

Many suggested Fury was unconscious only to increciably recover, however, speaking to IFL TV Joshua has a different opinion.


Joshua said: “I think he was just tired – needed that five seconds to kind of gather himself and he got up and continued.


“He was tired. His body gave up but his spirit didn’t. When you’re out cold, your spirit’s not intact, your body’s not intact.


“I think he just went down, tired, five seconds, and then his spirit was like: ‘I’m still here’.

“Then he got up and continued to fight.


“That’s my opinion on it, because when you get hit flush, your spirit and body disconnect. You’re not with it.


“But his spirit was still in intact it rose him up and he realised: ‘Hang on, I’m still fighting.’”


It was the second time Fury has fought out in America, but Joshua is yet to compete outside of the UK.


Hearn has made it no secret he intends to introduce Joshua to the American audience with
Jarrell Miller the talked about first opponent for AJ stateside.

Reports suggest Hearn is willing to scrap Joshua’s next outing which is booked for April 13, 2019 at Wembley, as he could instead make AJ vs Miller in New York.


Not willing to leave Wembley empty, Hearn could look to have Amir Khan vs Kell Brook headline in April 2019.
