Alan Carr is reportedly the first celebrity to be offered a spot on next year's series of Strictly Come Dancing.

TV bosses are said to have approached the comedian, 42, with an offer of taking part in the 2019 series, just days after Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton were crowned this year's winners.

A source told The Sun: 'Alan has met with the bosses and they all hit it off straight away.

'He’s a perfect celebrity for Strictly because he’s popular, funny and throws himself into everything — but has never had a day’s dance training in his life.

It comes after presenter Tess Daly recently revealed bosses were already approaching celebrities to take part in next year's series, adding she had heard some people were already confirmed.

One of Britain's most popular comedians, Alan became well-known for hosting The Friday Night Project with Justin Lee Collins.

This was followed by his Channel 4 series, Alan Carr: Chatty Man which ran from 2009 to 2016.

The comedian recently impersonated none other than Jennifer Lopez in Heat magazine for their Star's Dress Up issue.

He mimicked the 49-year-old singer's sizzling InStyle shoot, where she broke the internet with her semi-nude snaps. 

Alan - who has famously dressed up as TOWIE's Gemma Collins, Lauren Goodger and fashion designer Anna Wintour in the past - bore a striking resemblance to the star as he donned a similar green gown, embellished with dazzling sequins throughout.

Professional dancer Kevin Clifton became emotional after he won this year's series of Strictly on Saturday, having finished as runner-up four times.

Speaking to his partner Stacey, he said: 'I just want to, for God's sake, I just want to say thank you to you, not only for the hard work you have put in...

'I have had one of the craziest years of my life, you've just been so nice to work with, I've enjoyed it so much.

'I know I said this the other day, but, I've fallen in love with dancing all over again and Strictly all over again. I love this show... thank you for everything.'
