MEGHAN Markle’s closest aide, who sensationally quit just six months after the royal wedding, is said to have happily worked as Robbie Williams’ personal assistant.
The Duchess of Sussex’s PA left the glamorous role suddenly in a “shock” move having previously worked for the former Take That star, according to The Daily Mail.
The paper names the aide as French Melissa Touabti, 39, and said she played a “pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding”.
A source said: “Why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?
“Robbie Williams is a lively character, but she worked for him longer than she worked for Meghan.”
A Kensington Palace spokesman had declined to comment when the story first broke earlier this month but a Palace source did pay tribute to Melissa in a highly unusual move.
The source added that the PA “will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household”.
It comes as tensions between Meghan and Kate Middleton are rumoured to be the cause of a growing rift between Princes Harry and William.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided they don’t want to live in Kensington next to William and Kate.
A friend close to the couple has claimed that the decision to move may be because a rift is developing between the two couples because “Kate and Meghan are very different people”.
Robbie, 44, and his wife Ayda Field, 39, were part of the A-list guest list at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding earlier this year.
Their six-year-old daughter Theodora was a flower girl at the ceremony and Robbie leapt up on stage to perform at the royal bash.
