MANCHESTER UNITED are sweating over the future of David De Gea who has still not signed a new contract at the club.
It is understood United are becoming increasingly wary over one of their star players leaving.
According to the Telegraph, the Old Trafford club are willing to offer the goalkeeper £275,000 a week to stay but so far no agreement has been made.
If nothing is sorted, De Gea, 28 last week, will be able to leave in the summer for free because his contract expires in June.
It means Manchester United may be forced to cash in on the stopper in January and lose one of their standout performers over recent years.
He wants to be winning trophies as he hits his peak but has just one Premier League winners medal since arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2011, coming in Sir Alex Ferguson’s farewell season in 2012/13.

One club he will almost certainly do that is Juventus, who are understood to be monitoring the De Gea situation.
The Serie A giants lack a world class goalkeeper after Gianluigi Buffon’s departure in the summer and although Wojciech Szczesny saved a penalty against AC Milan, the Polish international is not even close to the Spanish stopper’s level.

Meanwhile, United are holding talks with trio Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Ashley Young over new deals with their contracts up next summer as well.
De Gea is one of eight players whose contract at Old Trafford expires next summer but have a 12-month extension option available.
Anthony Martial is one of those. He looks revitalised in recent weeks and United will be looking to sort his contract issues as soon as possible.
Defenders Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Matteo Darmian are all out of contract next year.
Andreas Pereira and James Wilson, neither of whom have established themselves in the first team, complete the list.
