INTER MILAN are ready to offer two of their stars in a sensational swap deal for Paul Pogba, according to reports in Italy.
Guiseppe Marotta is plotting a bold move for the Manchester United midfielder and is ready to offer two of Jose Mourinho’s long-term targets in return.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim that Marotta wants to ‘hijack’ a move from his former club Juventus.
The Old Lady have long been linked with a move for the French World Cup winner who has had continued fall-outs with United boss Mourinho.
Marotta has not yet been appointed at the San Siro, having been pushed out by Juventus after seven years and replaced bu his former deputy, Fabio Paratici.
Still, he has some big plans for the club who have struggled to compete on the European stage since their historic Treble win under Mourinho in 2010.
The report claims the move will not happen in January but will wait until next summer, with Inter’s Chinese owners expected to pump more cash into the club.
With Pogba likely to cost a huge fee if he moves, Marotta will use two of Inter’s biggest assests to tempt Manchester United.
Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, 29, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the last two summers, but a deal has not been made.
United transfer chief Ed Woodward was not willing to pay what Inter wanted for Perisic because he is 29 and will be 30 in February.
Much to the fury of Mourinho, who has been unable to compete with rivals Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea this season, Woodward decided last summer that United would not splash out on ageing stars.
However, Perisic is now believed to be available for around £30million.
The other man to be offered to United is centre-back Milan Skriniar who is wanted by Europe’s top clubs.
Mourinho has been desperate for a centre-back since January, with none of Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling or Phil Jones turning into a consistent contributor.

The Special One had been linked with Diego Godin, Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire but none of them moved.
Skriniar, 23, has become one of the best young defenders in world football and is also being chased by Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Nicknamed ‘The Locker’, as he locks up defences, Skriniar is valued at £70m.
