MANCHESTER CITY are set to lose a key member of their staff to title rivals Liverpool.
Lee Nobes, who has been at the club for more than 11 years, will leave his role as head physio to take up the same job with the Reds.
The 41-year-old joined City back in 2007 from Oldham Athletic when Sven-Goran Eriksson was manager.
He was promoted to the senior role on the physio team during Roberto Mancini’s four-year spell with the club.
But Nobes, who is originally from Jersey, has decided to head for pastures new, reports the Training Ground Guru.
His final game will leave a nice memory as City beat fierce rivals United 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Nobes will start at Liverpool on November 26, which will be during the next international break.
And he will come up against his former club on January 3 in the return Premier League fixture.
He replaces Matt Konopinski who left to joining the FA back in September.
City will be advertising for a replacement “in due course” – and their first job could be to ensure superstar Kevin De Bruyne gets up and running.
The Manchester City star has already missed six weeks this season and the club confirmed he will miss another five or six weeks of action after suffering knee ligament damage against Fulham.
City have coped well without the Belgian star, 27, but the news came as a bitter pill for Pep Guardiola, who only saw his star man return in the last couple of weeks.
Marseille
De Bruyne has only made five appearances this season after injuring his other knee in the Premier League opener against Arsenal.
