Garth Brooks opened the 2018 Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Wednesday.
The veteran country crooner held a moment of silence for the 12 victims of the Borderline Bar & Grill shooting last week.
And Carrie Underwood revealed she's having a boy during the opening monologue with Brad Paisley as they kicked off the annual music ceremony.

Brad was poking fun at Carrie that she 'let herself go' as she is obviously very pregnant. He also referred to a past reveal in saying, 'Hey, remember last time when I accidentally revealed the gender of your baby?'
He tried to get her to reveal the baby's name, saying, 'Seriously Carrie, give me a little baby hint? Johnny or June? Keith or Nicole. Garth or Trisha. Tim or Faith. George or Tammy. Waylon or Willie?' to which Carrie joked, 'Oh my gosh - Willie, it’s a Willie, OK?'
Brad retorted, 'I have two boys myself,' as the audience went wild, assuming Carrie will be adding another boy to her brood with husband Mike Fisher. They already share three-year-old son Isaiah.
Carrie later took to the stage to perform her single Love Wins, with a huge choir in tow.

Brad and Carrie had a blast passing out Nashville hot fried chicken to the audience.

Kelsea Ballerini gave a rousing performance of her new female empowerment anthem Miss Me More as she was surrounded by a group of background dancers.
The standing ovation for Kelsea was followed by Old Dominion playing their hit single Hotel Key with the lyrics 'She kept the hotel key, Slipped it in her purse.'
Old Dominion then captured the honors for Vocal Group of the Year, besting top acts including Lady Antebellum, LANCO, Little Big Town, Midland.
Brett Young then delivered a rousing rendition of his hit Mercy before a series of country-genre radio winners were announced in the broadcast.
New country music hall of famer Ricky Skaggs then regaled the crowd with a medley of songs that highlighted his amazing bluegrass talents. Midland then took to the stage to perform Eastbound and Down.
Kacey Musgraves's Golden Hour was named as the album of the year, besting competitors including Chris Stapleton's From A Room: Volume 2, Keith Urban's Graffiti U, Thomas Rhett's Life Changes and Dierks Bentley's The Mountain.
'It's inspired by this beautiful universe, all of you, and most of all love,' Kacey said of her album in her acceptance speech.
Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line performed an emotional duet of Meant To Be, and later, Luke Combs sang, She Got the Best of Me.
