BBC Two’s brand new drama Death and Nightingale promises to impress viewers with a gripping plot and star-studded cast.

Who’s in the Death And Nightingales cast?
BBC Two’s new drama Death and Nightingales is based on Eugene McCabe’s 1992 novel.
Set to premiere in late 2018, the plot is set in the countryside of Northern Ireland in 1855.
The story follows Beth Winters’ struggles to control her own fate, which leads to her deciding to run away from it all on her 25th birthday.
Here’s the lowdown on the cast members with all the juicy details…
Jamie Dornan
Jamie is an actor, model and musician from Northern Ireland.
He is best known for playing the infamous Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades franchise.
However, he also attracted a lot of attention for his performance BBC Two crime drama The Fall, for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor.
He will play Liam Ward in Death and Nightingales, who tries to help the lead character escape from her limited life.
Ann Skelly
The Irish actress will take on the role of Beth Winters in the new drama.
Ann has previously appeared in productions like Kissing Candice, Playground and Little Women.
The 21-year-old was nominated for an Irish Film and Television Award for Best Actress for her performance in Kissing Candice.
Matthew Rhys
Matthew is a 43-year-old actor best known for his parts in movies such as The Post, Burnt, and The Edge of Love.
He also appeared on numerous television series including The Americans and Brothers & Sisters.
The Welsh actor was nominated for an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series Emmy Award twice following his performance in The Americans.
Rhys will play Beth Winters’ protestant stepfather Billy in Death and Nightingales.
Valene Kane
The 31-year-old actress gained particular attention after starring alongside Jamie Dornan in BBC Two’s The Fall.
The Irish actress’ fans were also excited watch her performance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Martin, 35, was born and raised in Belfast.
The actor has appeared in numerous movies including The Survivalist, The Pacific, Calibre and Clash of the Titans.
