New photo Trent Merrin hopes to ‘tick off a few more boxes’ at Leeds Rhinos

TRENT Merrin hopes his Super League switch is another box ticking exercise – and England boss Wayne Bennett convinced him to come.

The one-time Australia international has linked up with Leeds after ditching the NRL for a marquee player contract.

And the back-rower hopes to complete a full set of aims on his list – or in other words tick more boxes.

Merrin, 29, said: “It was always a goal of mine to come over here and play in the Super League.

“I’ve done pretty well back home and ticked a few boxes of things I dreamed of when I was a kid. To come over here and try and tick a few more is something I’m very passionate about.

“I’m very excited about trying to get the job done, especially with this group of men, there’s a good vibe here having walked into this club and it’s something I want to grow with.”

Merrin, who left NRL side Penrith Panthers to become a Rhino, made his senior debut under Bennett at St George-Illawarra Dragons.

And he revealed how the legendary boss, now in charge of three Burgess brothers at South Sydney, helped convince him that Super League is the place to be.

He added: “I just talked to Wayne as a mate. I won a competition under him and I’ve learned everything I have in the game from Wayne.

“To touch base with him and really get his understanding of everything over here really helped my decision to come over here.

“He’s nothing but wraps for the Super League – he loves it and he’s nothing but good words to say about it and it was comforting to get his perspective on things.”

To achieve her kick-ass figure, Hayden – who plays cheerleader Claire Bennet in Heroes – follows the ‘quartering’ rule. She eats only a quarter of the food on her plate, then waits 20 minutes before deciding whether she needs to eat again.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”

Kim says: “I am no super-thin Hollywood actress. I am built for men who like women to look like women.”
