FORMER Games of Thrones star Richard Madden has said he believes none of the show’s main characters will survive the final series.
The Scottish actor‘s character, Robb Stark, memorably met a rather gruesome end alongside several family members during the fantasy show‘s infamous Red Wedding.

And now the 32-year-old has confessed that he thinks none of the main cast will make it to the final episode alive when it comes to an end next year.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said: “I kind of think it’s just going to be three dragons flying around and everyone else is dead. It’s a possibility!”
The Bodyguard star also admitted that since his character’s grisly end he has happily become a Game Of Thrones viewer.
He said: “I kind of don’t recognise that I was in it anymore because I’ve been watching so many years of it, and they talk about Robb Stark and I know who he is but I don’t see myself in that role.

“I’m just a viewer now, which is so good.
Adding: “That was one of the bad things about being in the show is you got the scripts so you knew what was going to happen next, and I’ve not had that for years, so now I can just truly enjoy it as a viewer, which is thrilling.”
In November, one of the show’s directors says the first episode will see the characters return to where they started at the beginning.
David Nutter, who directed the series’ opening episode, was being quizzed in a session on Reddit about how it felt to direct the first episode of the final season when he teased fans with the shocking twist.

“I’ve never directed am opening episode of GOT before until season 8, but I think it’s really important to make a splash,” he answered.
“You have to reset the table, put everyone back in their place, you have to take them to their next position. But you have to entertain that’s what’s most important.”
Although he did reveal that he was happy with how the season had turned out, saying: “I’m completely satisfied with how season eight ends.
“I think that [show creators] David [Benioff] and Dan [DB Weiss] did a tremendous job, and they took into consideration what the fans want, as well as what is right as far as storytelling is concerned.

“I guarantee there’s going to be lots of surprises and shocking moments, but it’s really very compelling stuff.”
The final series will be the shortest in Game of Thrones’ history with just six episodes, following on from the seven in season seven.
It seems very likely that each episode will be feature length but could range anywhere between 60-120 minutes in length.
