BOCA JUNIORS will ask the highest ruling power in sport for River Plate to be disqualified if they lose the Copa Libatadores final on Sunday.
The second leg of South America’s premier club competition was postponed twice last month after the bus containing Boca’s players was attacked by fans of the Los Millonarios.
After attempts to stage the game 24 hours later failed due to the injuries suffered by the Boca players, the game was moved away from Argentina to a neutral venue at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.
Though River Plate have lost their home advantage as a result of the actions of their supporters, Boca appealed to South American football’s governing body Conmebol for them to be disqualified.
But according to Ole, the Xeneizes will submit a second appeal, this time to the Sport of Arbitration for Sport if the result goes against them though no plea is expected if they win the game.
Club president Daniel Angelici told Cadena Ser: “We will appeal to the CAS. That is a different [issue] from the responsibility that I have for my team to show up.”

Both clubs had initially agreed prior to the matches that no away fans would be permitted from attending the games.
However, with the second leg moved to a neutral venue 5,000 supporters of each side have been permitted to travel to Spanish capital for the game.
Despite the violent scenes which occurred prior to the originally scheduled second game, the decision to move it away from Argentina has been met with widespread anguish.
Boca forward Carlos Tevez had led the criticism and says the nation should be ashamed by the move.
The ex-Manchester City and Manchester United forward told the BBC World Service: “It is a bit weird to play here but it is important for us to focus on how the game will be in Madrid.
“I think it is embarrassing for the people, not so much for the players.
“They took away our dream of playing the final in our country. It is rare because of where it is going to be played, but it is still a Copa Libertadores final.”
The arch rivals are locked at 2-2 after the first leg, which was played back on November 11.
