New photo 'Acid attack' horror as man, 21, has corrosive liquid thrown in his face in north London

A 21-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after he was attacked with acid in north-east London this morning.

The victim had the substance thrown over his face and also suffered cuts to his hands, believed to have been caused by a knife.

Officers rushed to Stoke Newington High Street after they were alerted to the attack by the London Ambulance Service at about 2.35am.

The London Fire Brigade was also at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Scotland Yard said: Officers attended and found a 21-year-old man who had been assaulted, with a corrosive substance thrown over his face.

'The man has been taken to an east London hospital. His injuries are not being treated as life-threatening or life-changing.'

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
