New photo Pregnant Meghan Markle looks elegant as she visits Smart Works

The Duchess of Sussex admitted that not everyone approves of her taste during a visit to a clothing charity on Thursday.

Pregnant Meghan, 37, today visit to the headquarters of women's charity Smart Works in London shortly after being announced as its patron.

The organisation provides high-quality interview clothes and training to unemployed women in need relying on donations from the public, including some from the Duchess herself.

However, Meghan admitted that her choice in bags hadn't gone down well with one woman who rejected the purse she had donated.

While picking out an outfit for a visitor today Meghan said:  'The last time I was here I suggested a purse to someone.

'It was one that I donated and she didn't like and I was like 'oh OK'. I thought it was great.'

When it came to her own outfit revisted a tried-and-tested wardrobe formula as she made her first public appearance of 2019 today.

She opted for a £2,600 coat by Oscar de la Renta and a simple £179 black dress from maternity label Hatch for the visit to the headquarters of women's charity Smart Works in London this morning.

The look is strikingly similar to one sported by Meghan on an outing to South Melbourne Beach during their royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji in October last year.

Meghan wore a £38 ASOS Maternity dress on the royal tour of Australia last year.

Women are referred to the charity from organisations such as jobcentres, work programmes, prisons, care homes, homeless shelters and mental health charities.

Kensington Palace annouanced today that Meghan has also taken on honorary roles with the National Theatre and Association of Commonwealth Universities - patronages both previously held by the Queen - and Mayhew, an animal charity in North West London.

The Queen has been patron of the National Theatre for 45 years and the ACU for 33 years.

Meghan's appointment at the National Theatre had been widely expected after she met privately with the theatre's director Rufus Norris, but Kensington Palace had remained tight-lipped until 9am today.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
