MEGHAN Markle is “doing a great job” as a Royal Family newcomer, according to Princess Diana‘s former royal butler, Paul Burrell.
The Duchess of Sussex married Harry eight months ago and has faced a divisive start amid her first tour and rumours of rifts with Kate Middleton.
But Paul, 60, told Closer she has settled in well – although he made a plea for her to contact her estranged father, Thomas.
He said: “Meghan is doing a great job as a newcomer to the royal family.
“Of course, she isn’t going to get everything right so soon off the blocks.
He added: “I personally think that she should make an approach to her father, perhaps with her mother’s help.
“If she doesn’t stem this constant flow of vitriol from her own family, it will continue to cause her pain.”
No rift between Princes
Paul appears in new Channel 5 documentary, Kate v Meghan: Princesses at War? which explores the rumoured rift between Meghan and Kate Middleton.
He has previously urged the new Duchess to become close friends with the Queen.
And he denies Meghan has caused tension between brothers Harry and William saying they will always be “inseparable.”
He added: “I think that their life bond was forged at the time of their mother’s death and that they are inseparable.”
Paul continued: “I have not noticed a rift between the two brothers.
“They are independent young men who still forge ahead together as a part of young team Windsor but have different roles and destinies.”

He compared their relationship to that of the Queen and her sister Princess Margaret, who “remained lifelong friends and were very close.”
Meghan has had once calming effect on her Princely beau – she has convinced him to meditate every day.
And it was revealed their new baby could share a birthday with the Queen.
