THE twisted leader of an international online paedo ring was beaten to death in prison by fellow lags.
Christian Maire was sentenced to 40 years behind bars in December after telling the judge “I am sick.”
The 40-year-old ran an online sex scam operation, which involved nine men in different states in the US and exploited more than 100 girls nationwide, including a Michigan girl who helped the FBI bust the scheme, according to US media.
After the dad-of two was caged for four decades, one victim reportedly said: “That’s basically life. And he’s gonna get the hell beat out of him.”
He was serving his sentence in Michigan and on Tuesday became embroiled in a fight involving seven cons.
On Friday the Federal Bureau of Prisons announced he had died.
Maire and his co-defendants lured girls onto the dark web and convinced them to strip, masturbate and perform sexual acts on camera.
They told girls to cut themselves as they watched and one victim was even coerced into performing a sex act with her dog.
The predators pretended to be teenage boys using fake profiles and stolen pictures then scoured social media for targets.
Online websites they used included Gifyo, Periscope, YouNow, and MyLOL.com, which describes itself as “the No. 1 teen dating site in the U.S., Australia, U.K. and Canada.”
As one victim at the December sentencing told the judge: “Thinking back to those days causes me to cry myself to sleep, wondering when the monsters will stop haunting me.”
The nine defendants all pleaded guilty and were sentenced to decades in prison, including Maire.
Maire’s death is the subject of a murder investigation.

Friday’s prison statement said three of the other inmates involved were treated for serious injuries and two prison staff members had minor injuries.
Assistant US Attorney Kevin Mulcahy said in court documents: “Maire had everything, a wife, children, higher education, a good job, family support and a wealth of life experience.”
He went on: “Maire played the role of loving husband and father, but spent much of his free time sexually exploiting some other father’s precious daughter.”
