JAMIE Oliver has splashed out £6million on a 16th century mansion — despite its haunted rocking horse.

The Friday Night Feast chef, wife Jools, 44, and their five kids are due to move in next month.

Jamie Oliver, his wife Jools and their five children and set to move into a £6 million mansion next monthBut Jamie, 43, is said to be “spooked” by the strange goings on in the nursery.A source said: “It’s an amazing place and the whole family fell in love with it at first viewing.

“The only thing Jamie wasn’t so sold on was the top-floor nursery which is said to be haunted, and has put off several perspective buyers.

“There’s a rocking horse there which, legend has it, starts rocking and creaking during the night.”

The Essex mansion sits on 70 acres of land[/caption]

The 70-acre Essex estate also boasts a six-bed farmhouse, three-bed lodge, converted stables and a cart shed.

The source added: “Jamie plans on converting a couple of the outhouse rooms into a mega-kitchen from which he can film shows and hold masterclasses.”

The manor house dates back to 1570 and had been owned by the same aristocratic family since the 1700s.

It was once involved in a 150-year-old sunken treasure mystery. Raiders stole the family silver but their getaway cart got stuck in mud.
