New photo 'I cannot believe the cheek of it': Reddit user discovers his ex's friend using his Netflix login

A friend piggybacking on your Netflix account is certainly irritating, but one man was left outraged when he discovered a friend of his ex had been using his login for years without his knowledge. 

A British Reddit user, who goes by the name The_Duff, shared screenshots of a WhatsApp exchange, which took place after he received a message from a number he didn't recognise, asking him to pay for his membership. 

The person then identified herself as a friend of his ex-girlfriend and demanded that she be allowed to continue using The Duff's account because he's 'paying for it anyway'. 

She then called him 'cheap' when he refused in the heated exchange, which has now racked up 83,000 upvotes. 

The Whatsapp exchange came as a shock to the Reddit poster, who couldn't believe his ex's friend had been using his Netflix account for years 

Other users were shocked by the story, especially as the unnamed woman couldn't understand what the problem was. 

'Just pay, I'm trying to watch something,' she told her friend's ex.  

One user wrote 'That deep-rooted level of entitlement never ceases to amaze and infuriate me.'

While another said 'Sounds like a real piece of trash.'

Friend of my ex has been using my Netflix details without my knowledge for years. Calls me cheap!

Hahaha the irony of someone saying I can't afford to pay for something that they have been leeching off for over 2 years. Not that it's any of your business but I have changed banks so they tried claiming from my old closed one.

However, a surprising number of other users said they'd caught people using their Netflix accounts before without paying, including a number of exes. 

One wrote ' Funny story I once had a girl post on Instagram the day after breaking up with me “TFW you break up with your man but still have his HBO”

She quickly lost access after I contacted customer support to log out all users on my account'.  

 

A surprising number of users said they'd faced similar situations with other services. One even said he'd had to contact customer support to log an ex-girlfriend out of his account
