DAVID DE GEA is ready to commit his future to Manchester United — after seeing his trophy hopes boosted since Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
United are ready to make De Gea, 28, the world’s best-paid keeper with a new contract worth up to £400,000 a week, including bonuses.
But he wanted clear signs the club will compete for trophies — and has been impressed with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s six wins as interim boss.
SunSport revealed last month that De Gea was closer to signing a new contract than leaving.
His current deal expires at the end of next season and, without fresh terms, Paris Saint-Germain were preparing a summer bid to pile the pressure on United to sell — or risk losing the Spain star for nothing.
Since Mourinho left in December, Solskjaer has breathed life into the club and there is fresh optimism around their Carrington HQ.

Players this week have been talking among themselves about the Champions League last-16 first-leg clash against PSG next month.
They are now looking forward to that blockbuster, plus a Prem showdown with bitter rivals Liverpool before the end of next month, in contrast to the atmosphere in the last days of Mourinho.
And having De Gea settled with a new deal before those games looks like a real possibility.
His heroics in the 1-0 win over Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday underlined his importance to United.
