Tradition goes that guests of a wedding - and the bridal party - shouldn't 'upstage' the bride on her special day.

Whether that be by avoiding wearing white or taking it easy on the dance floor, it's seen as important to celebrate the happy couple without drawing too much attention elsewhere.

And while reasonable measures can be taken, one bride has gone above and beyond to ensure her wedding theme is cohesive and her bridesmaids blend in as one.

In a Facebook post the woman in question shared an image of a neon yellow dress - which she called 'chartreuse' - and outlined her plan

'How over the top is it to buy my blue-eyed bridesmaids coloured contacts?' The caption on her snap began.

Immediately the post garnered hundreds of comments, many of which were calling her 'crazy'

'I'm offering to let them select any other colour, even a rich amber brown like mine (I'M not afraid to be overshadowed).

'I just think blue eyes would clash, since one of the wedding colours is chartreuse.'

'She can f*** off! I don't have blue eyes, but still she can f*** off,' a third added.   

It's not known whether the post is genuinely a call for opinion or merely a joke, but it garnered almost 1,000 reactions on social media in the space of one day.
