New photo Sun Savers members gave £16k to our Light Up Christmas appeal for Bliss charity

TENS of thousands of pounds have poured in to our Christmas appeal this week alone – including £16,000 from big-hearted Sun Savers members.

And just yesterday a single anonymous individual gave an incredible £10,000.

A second £10,000 donation was given by News UK, the parent company of The Sun.

Every penny from our Light Up Christmas appeal will go to the charity Bliss, which helps to save the lives of premature or poorly newborns.

The Sun Savers bonanza came from members of our rewards club who have kindly chosen to donate cash they have saved from the free fivers we give them for every 28 papers they buy. It could not go to a better cause.

Up to 8,000 babies will spend this Christmas on a neonatal intensive care unit, and no one knows what their parents will go through better than Charlotte and Chris Gell, who are both 28.

Their twin girls Darcy and Scarlett were born six weeks early in April 2016 and were so ill they had to be whisked straight to intensive care.

It was a terrifying time for the parents, from Northallerton, North Yorks, and they credit Bliss with helping them cope.

Cookery teacher Charlotte said: “It was a lifeline to have a point of contact with a volunteer from Bliss. Being separated from your babies is a very traumatic experience.

“To have someone checking on us every day was just what we needed.”

One of the many things that Bliss do is to train “Champion volunteers” to provide cot-side emotional support to families — and they will be on hand right over Christmas.

Little Darcy and Scarlett are now happy and well and looking forward to a big Christmas Day.

Charlotte said: “They are hilarious, full of character, they keep me absolutely run off my feet. They’re just perfect.”

Weight: 8st

To achieve her kick-ass figure, Hayden – who plays cheerleader Claire Bennet in Heroes – follows the ‘quartering’ rule. She eats only a quarter of the food on her plate, then waits 20 minutes before deciding whether she needs to eat again.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”

SATC star Kim swears by gym sessions with Russian kettle bells (traditional cast-iron weights) and the South Beach Diet to give her the body she wants. To avoid overeating, Kim has a radical diet trick – squirting lemon juice on her leftovers – so she won’t carry on picking.

Kim says: “I am no super-thin Hollywood actress. I am built for men who like women to look like women.”
