A CONTROVERSIAL clash between Roxanne Pallett and Ryan Thomas made Celebrity Big Brother the most-complained about TV programme of 2018, Ofcom has revealed.
The media watchdog received 27,602 complaints from viewers about the Channel 5 reality show, which was axed this year — in a 12 month period where the number of disgruntled TV fans rocketed.

After she falsely alleged that Ryan Thomas punched her, the Channel 5 reality show received 27,602 responses from angry viewers[/caption]
Former Emmerdale star Pallett, 36, accused fellow housemate Thomas, 34, who went on to win CBB, of “punching” her.
But later she said she had got the situation “massively wrong” and apologised.
Second on Ofcom’s annual top ten was ITV’s Loose Women which had 8,002 complaints.
The majority of those related to Kim Woodburn, 76, appearing as a guest on the talk show.
Love Island was also hit by a mass of complaints after footage showed Dani Dyer heartbroken over Jack Fincham[/caption]
The turbulent interview ended with her storming off the set following a bust-up with panellist, and long-time nemesis, Coleen Nolan, 53.
Ofcom said it is “investigating both programmes to determine whether potentially offensive content was editorially justified and placed into appropriate context”.
Sky News was third on the list with 4,251 complaints — most came from alleged bias in the editing of an interview with controversial figure Tommy Robinson, 36.
Love Island wasn’t far behind with 4,192 grumbles sparked by footage showing heartbroken Dani Dyer devastated by boyfriend Jack Fincham — prompting fury from fans and even her family at home.

While Emmerdale was in sixth place after receiving a total of 759 complaints, of which 366 related to an acid attack plot.
Last year there were a total of 16,068 complaints about radio and TV programmes, while this year’s figure stands at almost 56,000 – the increase is largely down to Loose Women and Celebrity Big Brother.
