IN the era of fast fashion, hand-me-downs are to be encouraged – and it seems the Royal family agree.
Like most of us mere mortals, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have to put up with hand-me-downs from their big brother, as the family Christmas card revealed.
Prince William and Kate Middleton – who will be spending Christmas alone at home after Meghan and Harry turned down their invitation – unveiled their adorable family snap yesterday, posing in a huddle with their three children.
Prince Louis, seven months, looked smart in a blue jumper and shorts with matching blue shoes.
But it’s not the first time the navy shoes have had a royal outing – they were last seen on Prince George during a trip to Australia.
He wore them to Sydney’s Taronga Zoo back in 2014 while on a royal tour with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The newly-released festive snap also sees Princess Charlotte, three, looking typically cute in a blue cardigan with white trim.
That’s another hand-me-down from George, now five, who wore it in a portrait celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday in 2016.
Charlotte also wore it when she was pictured kissing baby Louis, shortly after his birth in April.

The warm family portrait has been compared favourably with the Christmas card issued by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The black and white picture, which shows the newlyweds dressed in their wedding outfits with their back to the camera, got a mixed reaction from the public, with some saying the couple had “turned their back” on the public.
Meghan, who will spend her first Christmas as a royal at Sandringham, has been warned to “stay close to Harry” and look out for “traps” by Princess Diana’s butler Paul Burrell.
