A HIBERNIAN supporter has been arrested after he appeared to shout racist abuse at a Hearts player during the Edinburgh derby.
Sky Sports cameras picked up the supporter during his side’s 1-0 loss at Easter Road.
He was seen seemingly yelling at Jambos ace Clevid Dikamona when he appears to shout “ya f***ing black b******”.
And football fans have called for the culprit to be slapped with a “lifetime ban” from the ground if he’s found to have abused the player.
According to Sky Sports, the 65-year-old supporter has been arrested over the incident.
One person posted a video, taken from their telly of the incident, saying: “I’m no lip reader but I believe this hibs fan will get his just desserts. #NoToRacism”.
Another user commented: “Anyone else just see that w*** shouting racist bulls*** at Dikamona?”
One added: “I’m sorry, but that Hibs fan looked as if he was saying something racist. I hope not”.
And a fourth blasted: “Wow @LeeannDempster & #Hibs – please say you’ll do something about that (alleged) fan mouthing racist abuse clearly at a player.
“This is the 21st century for gods sake!!”
Hibs acted quickly to respond and said in a statement: “The club will do everything we can to identify the individual concerned and will take the appropriate action.
“It’s unacceptable.”
The game finished 1-0 to the visitors after a stunning strike from Olly Lee.
But the ‘racist’ abuse comes just weeks after Celtic forward Scott Sinclair suffered a similar fate in the Betfred cup final against Aberdeen.
The ex-Swansea ace stepped up to take a penalty against the Dons at Hampden as a supporter was heard on video shouting: “f***ing black b******” at the 29-year-old.
The incident comes just days after Kalidou Koulibaly was the target of racist abuse in Napoli’s game against Inter Milan.
And Raheem Sterling was the target of alleged racist abuse at Stamford Bridge in ugly scenes as Chelsea beat Manchester City in the Premier League.
