A THREE year sentence for a millionaire who killed his girlfriend during “rough ” sparked outrage – as Labour’s Harriet Harman called on the Government to review it.
Fury grew after John Broadhurst was handed only a three year and eight month stretch over the death of Natalie Connolly.
She was found half naked with horrific injuries at the couple’s home near Stourbridge.
The mum-of-one had suffered 40 separate injuries including serious internal trauma and head injuries including a fractured eye socket.
The former Solicitor General branded it “unduly lenient” saying she was “horrified” about the judge’s decision saying it “cannot be allowed to stand” as she wrote to Attorney General Geoffrey Cox to examine the case.
Ms Harman insisted the charge should have been murder not manslaughter.

She said: “Bearing in mind she died of violent injuries inflicted on her by him it’s hard to see how the sentence wasn’t even four years.
“This is a very ominous development. We stopped men getting away with murder by blaming their wife’s infidelity and now we’ve got a new version of male justification for homicide.”
Ms Connolly’s face had been sprayed with bleach and she had blunt force injuries to her buttocks and breast.
Broadhurst didn’t bother calling 999 until the following morning when she was found by paramedics at the bottom of the couple’s stairs.

The cause of death was blunt force injuries and acute alcohol intoxication in December 2016.
Initially he was charged with murder but the CPS accepted a guilty plea to the lesser charge of manslaughter halfway through last week’s trial.
The court heard that the couple were “in the habit” of having BDSM sex.
But prosecutor David Mason QC told the jury: “We only have Mr Broadhurst’s account as to what happened. They were the only two in the house at the time. Natalie is no longer here to tell us what he did to her or why he left her where he did.”
