New photo Holly Willoughby wants to play matchmaker for single Dancing On Ice stars

DANCING On Ice presenter Holly Willoughby, 37, has cheekily revealed she hopes to play matchmaker backstage of the new series.

Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday the show’s host said she’d helped “cause marriages and some very successful relationships.”

Holly, who won even more fans after her recent stint in the Jungle, told the paper: “Over the years I’ve set up quite a few people.

“I really want there to be a romance on Dancing On Ice this series. Wouldn’t it be great? We all like a bit of romance.

The happily-married mum-of-three hastily added: “As long as it’s two single people, then I’m well up for a bit of setting people up.”

Dancing On Ice has seen plenty of romances blossom during its run including David Seaman, who fell for his now wife, Frankie Poultney, after they met on the DOI tour.

And while there have been some happy ever afters thanks to the show, it has also seen its fair amount of drama.

Pro skater Brianne Delcourt got lucky with with three of the celeb contestants – Matt Lapinskas, Danny Young and Sam Attwater.

But the blonde stunner had her heart broken by former EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas, after he was spotted with his theatre co-star.

Brianne dished the dirt to The Sun revealing that Matt had pursued her while he had still been in relationship with his Albert Square co-star Shona McGarty.

She told The Sun: “Lots of people warned me but I didn’t listen.”

Another happy couple to come out of the show are hunky pro Sylvain Longchambon, who is now married to former-Corrie actress Samia Ghadie. However, their relationship began with scandal when Sylvain left his girlfriend, and former DOI partner, Jennifer Metcalfe for the soap beauty.

Dancing On Ice returns to the screen in January and fans of the show are hoping there will be plenty of drama.

The stellar line up of contestants includes Towie fave, Gemma Collins, 37, professional dancer, James Jordan, 40, Love Island star Wes Nelson, 20, and Loose Women panellist, Saira Khan, 48.

Despite being a ratings success on I’m A Celeb, Holly has confirmed that she won’t be returning to the Jungle. 

Speaking at the launch of ITV’s Dancing on Ice, she said: “I’ll be at home with everyone else having a glass of wine watching it.

“That was the thing I was most jealous of. Here I am standing here while you’re all drinking red wine at home in front of the fire and I’m in the rain in the jungle.”

Holly will return to ITV’s This Morning from next month alongside Sunday night entertainment show Dancing on Ice, which launches on January 5.
