EIGHT cross-party politicians have reported Radio 4 to Ofcom over biased Brexit bashing, The Sun can reveal.

The Labour, Tory, DUP an UKIP Brexiteers cite forensic research showing 64 per cent of recent coverage of Brexit was pro-EU, compared to 28 per Eurosceptic.

Mark Mardell’s Radio 4 show ‘Brexit: A Love Story?’ is accused of being heavily bias

Campaigners monitored all 245 minutes of a 13 episode series “Brexit: A Love Story?” hosted over six months by reporter Mark Mardell.

And after analysing all 38,000 words spoken on the show, they concluded there was a heavy bias against Brexit from 121 guest contributors.

The report from the News-Watch group claims: “Of the top ten contributions by running length, eight came from Europhiles and only two from sceptics.”

They say: “Strong Europhiles such as Tony Blair, Nick Clegg and Sir Stephen Wall had much more space to advance their ‘pro’ opinions than those who were negative about ‘Europe’.”

It concludes: “The core findings are that it was seriously skewed towards pro-EU opinion and thus breached BBC impartiality requirements.”

MPs including Labour’s Kate Hoey and Kelvin Hopkins, joined Ukip peer Malcom Pearson and Tories Philip Davies and Philip Holloborne in a complaint to BBC chairman Sir David Clementi.

And their letter detailing how the series was “seriously skewed towards pro-EU opinion” was also sent to broadcast regulator Ofcom.
