New photo Paul Chuckle vows to go ahead with panto without late brother Barry to honour his memory

PAUL Chuckle has vowed to go ahead with this year’s panto – despite losing his brother Barry to cancer.

The TV legend says he wants to honour the late entertainer in the Christmas show, Cinderella.

Paul is set to star alongside Craig Revel Horwood at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking, Surrey, from next month.

He said:  “Panto was a huge part of our lives for over 50 years and I know Barry would want and expect the show to go on.

“Craig and I are looking forward to going out there… and doing this year’s panto in loving memory of Barry.”

Paul is preparing to throw himself back into his stage work after his brother and famous sidekick lost his battle with bone cancer in August.

The funnyman has been open about his grief on Twitter since losing Barry, who he rose to fame with on ChuckleVision in the 1980s and 1990s.

He said after his death: “I’ve not just lost my brother, I’ve lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend.”

The comedian later revealed Barry had kept his cancer secret for almost two years, as he did not want to give up performing.

But he had to awkwardly correct a Tweet from the panto’s theatre, after they wrongly announced Barry had signed up to star.

Paul blew a kiss to the sky as he watched their beloved footie team Rotherham win days after Barry had passed away.

It appeared to be a sweet gesture in honour of his brother, who died aged 73.
