ASDA has launched an alternative Black Friday sale today with up to 50 per cent off children’s toys.
For the past few years, Asda has spurned Black Friday 24-hour flash sales, instead choosing to focus on lower prices all year round.
This year is no exception and today it has launched its Green Is The New Black sale online and in stores, with six deals on children’s toys in its George Home range.
The biggest discount available is 50 per cent off a Disney Princess Kitchen, which is reduced from £119.97 down to £60.
But one of the most popular deals is likely to be a £45 LOL Surprise Bigger Surprise, which sells at other shops including Argos for £84.99 – a saving of 47 per cent.

IT might be tempting to dive in and snap up LOADS of items on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but here’s how you can guarantee you’re getting a good deal.
PREPARE Research the items you want to buy and find out the cheapest price. Websites like PriceSpy, PriceHistory and CamelCamelCamel will give you historical data on prices so you can see how much you should pay.
GET FOLLOWING Follow your favourite shops on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and sign up to its deals newsletter to get the latest on any offers. We post the best deals in our Sun Money FB group too.
EARN CASHBACK Check websites like Quidco and TopCashback BEFORE you place your order. Cashback websites PAY you to shop. All you have to do is click through their links and the money is added to your online account, usually within 14 days.
CHECK FOR CODES Take a look at The Sun Vouchers, and see if you can get extra savings with discount codes.
Asda’s Green Is The New Black sale is set to run until Tuesday, November 27 and we’re sure there will be lots more bargains to pick up over the next couple of weeks.

Walmart-owned Asda has claimed responsibility in the past for bringing Black Friday to the UK.
But the supermarket pulled out of the mega-sale day in 2015.
Despite this, previous years have seen Asda run sales on homeware, toys and fashion throughout the festive season.
In the past, Asda has explained that feedback from customers suggested that they would rather have regular low prices instead of flash sales.

Even though Asda is swerving Black Friday, we’re expecting other supermarkets, such as Lidl and Sainsbury’s to offer up deals.
