RETIRED social worker Joy Rayden wanted to do something to help people with dementia in her community.
So, after having a meeting with the charity Dementia Forward she set up The Wednesday Welcome Club.

The Wednesday Welcome Club benefits people with dementia and their carers living in Joy’s home town of Masham, Yorkshire.
Retired social worker Joy has always been interested in charity work, and this particular program has been so important to her community because it really gives people the confidence to come and get support and resassures them that there are people that understand that it isn’t easy living with dementia.
To thank Joy for all of her hard work over the years her friends and family have teamed up with Morrisons to throw her the surprise party she deserves.

Her son says “Mum deserves a thank you because she never gets anything in return.”
And that is exactly what they gave her.
Check out the video below to see her face when she is surprised by her friends, family and community.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”
Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
