MOBILE phone operator O2 is sending gifts including chocolate and Moet champagne to thousands of loyal customers.

The presents include 75cl bottle of Moet worth £34, a Tile Mate bluetooth tracker worth £20 and a luxury chocolate bar.

The mobile provider was unable to give us a breakdown of how many will be given but they confirmed that there were “thousands” of each item.

Some customers will be entered into a competition to win a VIP weekend in France at the Moet vineyards.

Customers are being picked at random but a spokesperson said they are those which have been with the firm for a “long time”.

The lucky customers will receive a message with a unique code which needs to be entered into the O2 app.

They have 28 days from the date the text is sent to redeem the offer.

The last text messages will be sent out on October 8.

Yesterday, the mobile operator apologised to customers after thousands were unable to make or receive phone calls.

Angry customers to took Twitter to complain they were disconnected after the network went down.

In August, O2 customers were advised to check their bills after the mobile phone firm admitted to overcharging thousands.
