Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins has faced the music over his decision not to pick anyone on Thursday's shocking Bachelor finale. 

On Sunday night, he sat down with The Sunday Project's Lisa Wilkinson and bared his soul, admitting that he had deepest feelings for Brooke Blurton, who chose to leave the show before the finale. 

Lisa suggested that the 'kisses were deeper' between Nick and Brooke, as was their eye contact, and in a bombshell admission, the former footballer agreed, calling her the 'one that got away'.

'The eyes don’t lie,' the former Wallabies star confessed. 

When asked if he felt Brooke was 'the one that got away' Nick confessed that the Perth-based beauty was.

He added that he was 'happy' with the outcome of the show and even how things ended with Brooke. 

Nick told Lisa: 'But I wouldn’t change it. I want what's best for her and I want her to be happy'.

Clad in a semi-sheer black dress, Brooke tearfully informed the hunk that she needed more 'reassurance' and 'certainty' from him.

'It was a hard decision to say goodbye to something that had a lot of potential for love and happiness,' she wrote.

'For everyone who might ask, my decision wasn’t irrational. It was a thoughtful conclusion, I took the time out within myself to make the right decision for me.'
