Monica Lewinsky changed her Twitter name on Friday to one she had been called by bullies as part of a month-long campaign to put an end to trolling 

Monica Lewinsky has changed her Twitter name to 'Monica Chunky Slut Stalker That Woman Lewinsky' as part of an anti-bullying campaign launched by celebrities to put an end to internet trolling. 

The 45-year-old is leading the #DefyTheName campaign which calls on stars to reveal the names they were once called by bullies but overcame in an effort to show others that they can put the cruelty behind them too. 

Lewinsky, who said she had 'lots of names to choose from', announced the effort on Friday morning on Good Morning America where she was referred to as the 'patient zero' of internet bullying. 

Other celebrities, who are yet to change their Twitter names but took part in the PSA, are Lena 'whiny fat c**t' Dunham, John 'b***h loser' Oliver, Sarah 'the weirdo' Silverman' and Tony 'skinny piece of crap' Hawk. 

Olivia Munn revealed she was called 'the new girl in school no one likes' and actor Alan Cumming shared that he had been labeled 'useless'.  

Lewinsky, 45, said on Friday morning during an appearance on GMA that she had 'lots of names to choose from' 

Lewinsky says she became 'patient zero' of internet bullying after her affair with Bill Clinton was exposed in 1998. At the time, there was no social media and the internet was about to explode into every day life 

ABC reporter Amy Robach changed her name afterwards to 'Skeeter'. It was what boys in high school called her to tease her when she was an 'underdeveloped competitive gymnast'. Skeeter syndrome is an allergic reaction to mosquito bites

The most cruel and shocking are the names hurled at actress Maysoon Zayid who revealed she had been called a 'retard' and a 'crooked gumby mouth terrorist wh**e b***h who looks like she was slapped upside the head with a frying pan and should probably kill herself.' 

Speaking on GMA on Friday, Lewinsky said she felt she had to 'walk the talk' and share the most painful of the names she was labeled during the 1998 firestorm of her affair with then president Bill Clinton. 

'Lucky me, I had a lot of names to choose from so it was quite a process to go through but I felt it was important to walk the talk and we'll see at the end of the month if they really have more power over me,' she said. 

The campaign was timed to coincide with anti-bullying month. 

Lewinsky also convinced GMA host Amy Robach to change her Twitter name to 'Skeeter' - the name she was called in high school when she was an 'underdeveloped gymnast'.  

When the Lewinsky-Clinton scandal erupted, social media hadn't yet been existed and the internet was on the verge of exploding into popular culture and the dotcom bubble was at its peak.  

Lena Dunahm said her name will be changed to 'Lena whiny fat c**t' Dunham but she has not yet changed it. Sarah Silverman's bully name is 'that weirdo' 

Olivia Munn said she was taunted as the 'new girl in school no one likes'. John Oliver revealed his bully name was 'b***h loser' 

By the time Clinton left the White House in 2001 having been impeached and acquitted, Lewinsky had been propelled to international notoriety.

At the time she was in her 20s and had barley launched a career before her interactions with Clinton while she was a White House intern became public. 

She signed a lucrative endorsement deal with diet company Jenny Craig which involved her losing weight over an agreed period of time and drew attention to her figure. 

Lewinsky went on to design handbags, make several television appearances and write a book about her experiences.  

She has since spun a career out of motivational speaking.
