RUSSIA’S fake news trolls have claimed that the Skripal poison suspects were British actors in a TV drama.
A story created as joke on a Russian spoof website was seized upon and reported as fact.

The claim was last night being shared on social media by conspiracy theorists backing Vladimir Putin.
Russian site Panorama said Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov were actually British actors called Paul Collinson and Jeffrey Fields.
The site also stated CCTV pictures recovered by police were still shots taken from a series called “KGB Spy” which appeared on British television in the early 2000s.
No actors of that name are on the British actors’ union Equity’s books and internet searches produced no trace of a home-grown drama called “KGB Spy.”
An anonymous blogger identified only as Rurik1 went on to say the actor allegation was first made in a deleted Facebook post by “producer Michael Killigan”.
Killigan is said to have posted: “It’s even funnier than Mr. Bean with Borat. Mother Teresa (obviously, the author meant the British Prime Minister Teresa May – ed. ) Shows photos of two Russians who were shot in my TV series almost 20 years ago, and they also took a shot from there. Does MI5 read our scripts? ”
But there is no record of a Facebook account for a TV producer by that name.
The post received hundreds of likes and was copied and retweeted before it vanished.
