Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo despite watching the Juventus forward tear apart his Napoli side on Saturday.

The Portuguese forward set up two and played a part in the third as The Old Lady came from behind to beat Napoli 3-1 in Turin and move six points clear at the top of Serie A.

The performance saw Ronaldo continue what has been a fine start to life in Italy, with an extremely harsh red card in the Champions League serving as the only blemish.

Carlo Ancelotti was quick to praise the 33-year-old following the Serie A showdown 

And Ancelotti, who managed the 33-year-old for two seasons at Real Madrid, believes he is as good as ever. 

'I've seen the usual Ronaldo, a player very important for his side,' Ancelotti said.

'He is constantly in the game and always a danger for opponents. He is always present in attack and, as I said before, he adds extra value to Serie A.

Ancelotti believes Ronaldo's standards are as high as ever following the impressive display

'It's a pleasure to watch him playing in Italy.' 

Ancelotti received a tough reception from the Juventus fans but insisted he was not fazed in the slightest.

'The chants were normal,' the 59-year-old continued. 'I'll console myself with the 2003 Champions League trophy.'
