She was left heartbroken with tears streaming down her face after being brutally dumped on The Bachelor.

But a new report has sensationally claimed that Cassandra Wood, 23, is having the last laugh after Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins, 30, supposedly came crawling back after dumping the winner.

Speaking to NW magazine on Monday, an unnamed source claimed the former Wallabies star pulled a 'Blake Garvey' and changed his mind after choosing rumoured finalist Brittany Hockley as the winner.

'Nick felt compelled to let Cassie go after Britt's hometown date,' the source said.

'The pressure was on for him to prove that Cass wasn't planted on the show for him, and he made a rash decision – but it wasn't a decision that he sincerely wanted to make.' 

The insider added that Nick and Cassandra will debut their romance after the finale airs.

'It's going to be intense – but they're happy,' the source said.

Daily Mail has contacted Channel Ten for comment. 

Nick and Cassandra sparked controversy after it was revealed early in the season that they previously dated before the show.

She recently told Yahoo! Be that she first met Nick on her 23rd birthday in August 2017, a year before their on-screen reunion and that they dated 'on and off' for five months.

'I was going out for my birthday and he just came and met me for a drink and ended up meeting my brother and that was the start of everything,' she explained. 

The accounting student was sent home last week after failing to receive a rose from Nick.

Before the rose ceremony, rumoured winner Brittany Hockley confronted Cassandra about her sexual history with Nick during the cocktail party.

'We weren't dating, or in a relationship, I don't even know if you would call it seeing each other...' Cassandra said tearfully.

Brittany asked whether they were ever physical, which left Cassandra feeling flustered.

'We... like, I don't know... what to say... like, we kissed and stuff,' she stammered.

'I don't know. This is just a really inappropriate situation. I didn't want to have to do this. I actually don't know how to handle this situation... it wasn't a relationship.'
