BURT Reynolds said he did not fear death when he released his autobiography just months ahead of his death on Thursday.
The acting legend was 82-years-old when he died following a cardiac arrest on the 6th September 2018 after looking frail for months before.
But the Boogie Nights star had said he was at peace with his life and did not fear death.
“I don’t fear dying… I talk to God every night,” he revealed in December 2015 as he released his autobiography, But Enough About Me.
“I just think of the luck I’ve had. I’d like my epitaph to be, ‘He had a hell of a good time and he was a good friend’,” he continued.
The star said his only fear was becoming a burden, adding: “The only thing I fear is getting sick and being a bother to people.”
Burt kept a sense of humours about his mortality – as he vowed to leave his toupee to his brother when he died.
“It’s beautiful hair but it’s not mine,” he told The Mirror.
“When I die they’ll find this beautifully dressed man with this beautiful hair. They’ll say, ‘Well, he left a note – ‘Pass this to his brother, he needs it badly’,” he added.
Burt had been spotted using a walking stick while out in public in the months leading up to his death amid reports he had suffered ill health.
The actor had said he relied on his stick due to failing health that he blamed on being caused by his decision to do his own stunts during his film career.
“I did all my own stunts, which is why I can’t walk very well now. At certain times in the morning I regret it, trying to get out of bed,” he said in a 2015 interview.

“I can point to certain places and know it’s from certain pictures,” he continued.
Showcasing his humour again, he added: “It’s very embarrassing if you’re with a woman and you go to throw her over the other side of the bed and your knee goes out.’”
