"Many Photos" - Burglars raid empty home of ex-Concorde pilot and wife who died in ‘murder-suicide’ last week

CALLOUS burglars raided the home of ex-Concorde pilot Tony Meadows after he was found dead with his wife last week.

They took aviation souvenirs collected by the former Queen’s pilot, including his exclusive Concorde cufflinks.

Police believe Tony Meadows may have killed his wife before taking his own life[/caption]

The raiders picked over the belonging of the dead couple after police and forensic officers had finished their inquires.

Murder probe police suspect the couple both died of an overdose and Mr Meadows may have killed himself after years of caring for wife Paula, 85, who had dementia.

Officers appealed to the raiders to give back items of sentimental value taken from the £1.3million home near Newbury, Berks.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Alice Broad of Local Area CID based at Newbury, said: “We are investigating this burglary in which it’s thought a number of items linked to Concorde and Anthony Meadows’s work as a pilot were stolen.

“These items have sentimental value to the family who have recently lost both their mother and father just last week. We are appealing for anyone with information as to the whereabouts of these items.”

“We would ask anyone who may have been offered these items for sale to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“Additionally I would also like to send a direct message to the people to look into their conscience and return the items that hold valuable memories for the family.
