HAPPY Mondays legend Bez was booted off Bargain Hunt after he was ‘caught cheating’.

The 54-year-old dancer was disqualified after his girlfriend Firouzeh Razavi  was unmasked as the highest bidder on his team’s items.

Bez and teammate Rowetta, 52, bagged an eight quid profit on their booty, the Mirror reports.

They defeated  team rivals Jarvis Cocker, 55, – singer in Pulp – and Candida Doyle, 55.

But producers smelt something fishy when they brought Bez and Rowetta back for reshoots  atvthe end of the Music Day, special broadcast yesterday.

Bez claims it was all just an “honest error”.

He said he asked her to bid for a 100-piece tea set that had nothing to do with the show, but she got confused.

Bez added: “I said, ‘I want this, this is ours’. And she thought I meant. ‘Go get a ticket and bid on our things’.

“She completely misunderstood.”

Rowetta bought the horseshoe mirror and a record player hawked by Bez’s red team.

The maraca man, and former CBB contestant, said: “I couldn’t believe it. I was sat there thinking, ‘Oh my God, she’s bought me mirror’.

“But it was an honest error – we never meant to cheat.”

He added: “It was embarrassing having to hand over our title.

He said: “I went home with it in my pocket.”
