New photo Roosters star Cooper Cronk cleared to play in the NRL grand final’ after passing secret fitness test

Sydney Roosters playmaker Cooper Cronk has been cleared to play in Sunday night's NRL grand final against Melbourne Storm.

The club's medical team gave Cronk the all clear after putting the halfback through his paces in a secret fitness test on Sunday morning, news.com.au reported.

It's understood the decision was left up to the champion halfback and Roosters coach Trent Robinson to make the call.

The Roosters confirmed his selection an hour before kick off.

Cronk is the fifth favourite and at $9 odds to win the Clive Churchill Medal for best on ground.

Rugby league legend Andrew Johns doubted the Roosters star would overcome his shoulder injury and take the field.

'I think he's no chance, I don't think he'll play,' Johns said on Channel 9.

'I'm wrong all the time but I don't think he'll play.

'He's no chance. The way he came off last week, the way he was carrying it and the clips you saw during the week from the helicopter where he can't even bend over and pick the ball up, I don't think he'll play.'

Storm coach Bellamy told Channel 9's The Footy Show on Thursday night his side would not hesitate to target Cronk in the grand final

'Not going to go chasing him all over the field but if we get someone close enough we're going to run hard at him put it that way,' he said.

More to come.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
