UK outlook for Tuesday 2 Oct 2018 to Friday 5 Oct 2018

On Tuesday, it will turn largely dry and bright across the north of the country. But there will be blustery showers in northern Scotland.

It is expected to stay cloudy in the South with patches of drizzle.

Later on in the week, it will be often dry in the South with brighter spells. It will turn cooler in the North by Friday.

UK outlook for Friday 5 Oct 2018 to Monday 29 Oct 2018

After a dry start in the far south, Friday and Saturday are likely to be rather cloudy and breezy across southern and central England and Wales, with some rain at times.

Brighter colder weather is more likely across northern England, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland, but northern Scotland may well have strong winds, sunny spells and blustery showers.

For Sunday and the following week a more general spell of wet and windy weather is likely.

Gales are likely in the northwest with the best of any sunshine in the south and east.

Temperatures will tend to be rather cold in the North next week.

The weather in the second half of October looks likely to be on the wet and windy side, though drier and brighter interludes are likely too.

Gales are possible at times, particularly in the Northwest.

Towards the end of the month, there is a chance of more settled weather developing again, particularly in the South, where night fog and frosts would become more likely.

Temperatures will probably be generally colder than average.
