WILLIE MULLINS is set to bring over a strong squad for the Grand National meeting later this week.
The Closutton cannonball will bid to build on a successful Cheltenham Festival with a host of big names.
Leading the charge is Melon, who finished a cracking second in the Champion Hurdle for the second year on the trot and will step up in trip for the Aintree Hurdle.
He’s set to be joined by former star Faugheen, who travelled well but didn’t quite get home in the Sun Racing Stayers’, and Benie Des Dieux, who would have landed the Mares’ but for taking a final-flight tumble.
Impressive Arkle winner Duc De Genievres will bypass the meeting in favour of Punchestown, but Supreme Novices’ Hurdle sixth Aramon is likely to take his chance in the Sefton.

Pleasant Company, who just failed to catch Tiger Roll in last year’s National, will be Mullins’ number one hope for the big race once again.
The trainer is also set to field Rathvinden, Pairofbrowneyes and Up For Review in the Aintree spectacular.
