A GRATEFUL mum has tracked down a hero Tesco manager who saved her “dead” baby when the eight-week-old stopped breathing in a street.
Vishnu Samgi was on his way to work when he heard a woman screaming that her baby had turned blue.
Charlotte-Louise was convinced that her newborn, Tommy Warner, had died.
Good Samaritan Vishnu, 23, saved the baby by giving him CPR and speaking to ambulance staff by phone as they raced to the scene of the drama in Leicester.
The thankful mum took to social media shortly after last Wednesday’s close call, to reveal that her son was stable in hospital.
She also appealed to know the identity of the “amazing person” who saved her baby’s life, posting: “Today at 1.50pm, my little eight week old was struggling to breath [sic] we pulled the car over and I gave him CPR which failed to bring him back.
“He was blue and lifeless, my little boy was dead.
“There was a man who pulled over who also performed CPR on him he got Tommy to start breathing again.”
She added: “But, shortly after he deteriorated and stopped breathing once again, he was now blue and lifeless.
“He spoke to the ambulance and carried on performing CPR on my helpless lifeless baby until the ambulance crew got there.
“As I rushed in the ambulance, Tommy started breathing again with the help of the ambulance crew and a breathing machine.”
Tommy wouldn’t have made it as he was dead for a few minutes.
Mum, Charlotte-Louise
Charlotte-Louise said she was told that if it wasn’t for the kind stranger’s help, “Tommy wouldn’t have made it as he was dead for a few minutes.
“What’s happened today has been playing on my mind and I need to thank this man for saving my baby’s life. Without him Tommy wouldn’t be here.
“Tommy is in intensive care and is doing fine, but please could everyone share this and let the power of the internet to try and track this amazing person down!”
Vishnu, a shift leader at a Tesco in Leicester, had mentioned the incident to colleagues and was told about the post by a friend.
He responded to the mum’s heartfelt post, saying: “I’m really happy that Tommy is better because he was all I was thinking at work yesterday.
“Would love to see him again if it’s ok by you and if you need anything please don’t hesitate to ask.”
Charlotte replied: “I just needed to find you to say thank you for saving my boy’s life.
“I’d love for you to see him once he’s better, he’s on the mend and doing fine in intensive care.
They’re doing everything they can for him, but he wouldn’t even be there if it wasn’t for you.”
Dad Andrew also commented: “Yeah we can’t thank you enough buddy seriously we owe you a lot mate!”
