HARRY KANE says he would be prepared lead England off the pitch if players are subjected to racist abuse again.

England stars Danny Rose, Raheem Sterling and Callum Hudson-Odoi were targeted with ignorant taunts over their colour during the Euro 2020 qualifying win in Montenegro.

The Three Lions stars made their point in the best way possible as they all shone in the 5-1 victory, with Sterling cupping his ears to the crowd to make a point after scoring.

But the prospect of the side walking off the pitch in protest if the situation arose again has been discussed since Monday’s game – and captain Kane says he would have no problem leading them to the sidelines.

The 25-year-old said: “It’s terrible, it’s unacceptable.

“Our players handled it so well, professional and focused on our job and carried on doing what we do best.

STAND BEHIND

“That’s what they’ve done and now it is up to the people in charge to take over and make sure the right action is taken. It’s not acceptable in football or any part of life.

“The way the fans acted, the people in charge must take the appropriate action.”

Asked directly if England would walk off, Kane added: “I’m fully supportive of my team-mates.

“If it happened again and they weren’t happy and wanted to talk about it and they wanted to take a breather, I would fully back them with whatever they wanted to do.

Uefa have launched disciplinary action against the Montenegro FA – with the prospect of partial stadium closure being suggested as punishment.

Kane broke off from his preparations for Tottenham’s clash with Liverpool this weekend to receive his MBE from Prince William at Buckingham Palace today.
