UK outlook for Monday January 14 to Wednesday January 23

MONDAY brings a colder, brighter interval for many areas but a return to milder, cloudier conditions is expected by early Tuesday. Rain and strong winds to spread into the northwest, with the northeast could face gale force winds during the day.

Unsettled conditions should continue for the rest of the period, with spells of rain scattered with colder, showery weather. Chance of snow on northern hills, possibly on lower levels in the far north.

The best of any drier and brighter weather towards the south. Temperatures close to the seasonal average, but from late next week onwards cold spells are more likely giving more widespread frosts and a higher risk of snow, especially in the north and east.
