The Brit urged the seven-time F1 champ to keep fighting following his skiing accident in the French Alps in 2013.

Schumacher hit his head on rocks while skiing with his son Mick, resulting in severe head injuries including blood cloths on the brain.

The German was then put in a medically induced coma, which he fell into for six months.

He has not been seen in public ever since and the family continues to keep the extent of the F1 legend’s injuries and his condition private.

And as Schumacher celebrated his 50th birthday on Thursday, tributes from his former rivals poured.

“What an honour it is to say that I have raced with you. You’ve always been a true inspiration to me and the entire world.

“Keep fighting, Champ.”

Schumacher’s former team-mates, Nico Rosberg and Felipe Massa, joined in and took to social media to show appreciation for the legendary driver on his special day.
