LIVERPOOL target Abdulkadir Omur has done nothing to play down rumours of a move to Anfield as he has confirmed his interest in the league leaders.
The Turkish ace’s dream is to play in Europe and has hailed Liverpool as a “very important club”, but will wait to see what his current bosses say.
Liverpool and Manchester City are not only in the race for the title, but also for the 19-year-old’s signature, but the Reds now seem to have the edge.
The wonderkid was dubbed the “Turkish Lionel Messi” earlier this year and has shone for Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.
His versatility is appealing to the Premier League giants and in his maiden season he was a key player in Trabzonspor’s midfield- bagging three goals and six assists.
A fee of £27million has been floated for the midfielder, who Liverpool are considering as a replacement for Adam Lallana.
Speaking to De Marke Sports, Omur addressed the rumours, he said: “Liverpool is a very important club.
“But the most important thing is Trabzonspor’s interests. If my club tell me that I can go, I’ll go.
“And if they tell me to stay, I’ll stay. We’ll see.”
Klopp had admitted in a press conference that he didn’t expect there would be any surprise signings this window, but the Turkish star’s arrival is through to be dependant on Lallana’s future at Anfield.
Turkish side Fenerbache are thought to be keen on the injury-prone midfielder and have offered the 30-year-old the chance to get regular game time.
So far this month, Liverpool have sold Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth for £19million and Nathaniel Clyne has joined him on loan for the remainder of the season.
