A BOY who died from an apparent allergic reaction to the smell of fish being cooked used his final words to tell his dad he loved him, his heartbroken dad said.
Camron Jean-Pierre, 11, faded in and out of consciousness after smelling the fish cooking in the family kitchen.
He gasped “Daddy, I love you” as he struggled to breathe.
“He gave me two kisses,” recalled his dad Steven Jean-Pierre.
Father and son travelled from New Jersey to spend New Year’s Day with Camron’s grandma in Brooklyn, but walked into her home at the worst possible moment — right as she was preparing a cod dinner.
“It just so happens they was cooking it when we came in,” said Steven.
“Usually he don’t get nothing that severe.”
But the fumes quickly overwhelmed the pre-teen, and he passed out.
Camron, who had a known allergy to fish, was given his portable nebuliser, a machine that turns liquid medicine into a mist to help relieve respiratory problems, but he couldn’t catch a breath.
“I [tried] to give him the machine — that usually works — but it didn’t take, and then I just called the ambulance,” said Steven.
While waiting for first responders to arrive at the East 82nd Street home, Steven desperately fought to revive his fading son.
“It felt like he had no pulse. I [tried] to give him CPR and he came back briefly, but soon slipped away again,” the dad recalled.
Camron was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, but couldn’t be revived.
“My son was the best,” said Steven.
“He made everyone around him happy. He made his dad happy.
“That was my prince, man. He was my everything.”

The city medical examiner will determine his official cause of death.
Neighbors remembered Jean-Pierre as a friendly only-child often spotted with his doting dad.
“I love the family and we plan to go over today and give our sympathy,” said neighbour Eloise Paul, 69.
“It is a tragedy which all of us cannot understand.”
